In two weeks time, i'll be home for 1 year after my mission. What had I done in this year? What did I learn?
Things that I achieved...
1) I found a job that I love and enjoyed so much... (be a teacher)
2) My relationship with my parents is getting closer and they really know the reason I serve my mission (I love them)
3) able to draw a little closer to God (through many trials and errors)
4) Visit to temple again after my MTC in Oct 2006 (will visit Taipei temple with Bishop Neo's family end of Nov '09)
Things that not yet done (my goals for this coming year)
1) Get certified as a teacher
2) Get my parents + siblings to attend church and learn about the gospel
3) Be more obedient to the Lord's commandments (obedience to exactness)
4) Seriously date a worthy sister that I can bring to temple
Again, thanks for the Eternal Marriage student Manual. I read this talk by Elder Bruce R. McConkie
"Well, do you want a wife? Do you want anything that’s right and proper? You go to work, and you use the agency and power and ability that God has given you. You use every faculty, you get all the judgment that you can centered on the problem, you make up your own mind, and then, to be sure that you don’t err, you counsel with the Lord. "
He also quoted the counsel of Alma to his son Helaman
"O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God. Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support.” (Alma 37:35–36.)"
Once again, Heavenly Father do answers our prayers. I know what I need to do now. May all of us can “Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings" everyday. This I challenge all of you.
