St Luke 12:48

But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

Some might said, "why am I worried so much about the end of the world as everyone must die?" The more I learn about the plan and duties which Heavenly Father assigned to me, the more I feel I'm not prepared enough to meet him today and tell him the "BEST" that I had done.

How can I know if I had done my BEST?

President Eyring said "They are polar opposites: one is to be complacent about what we have already done, and the other is to feel overwhelmed by the need to do more. "

Obviously I felt I am in the later group of member.

What should I do now?

The following verses then stand out to me in the long list that I found on Scriptures Search

2 Nephi 2

v 28 And now, my sons, I would that ye should look to the great Mediator, and hearken unto his great commandments; and be faithful unto his words, and choose eternal life, according to the will of his Holy Spirit;

v 29 And not choose eternal death, according to the will of the flesh and the evil which is therein, which giveth the spirit of the devil power to captivate, to bring you down to hell, that he may reign over you in his own kingdom.

I think I got the answer, do whatever I can with all my heart, might and strength in obeying the commanments, in carry out my priesthood duties and magnify my callings, in making correct decisions through prayer and inspiration.

May we all able to know what we need to do and follow as Prophet Nephi counsel us

"Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life. "

Reflection after watching Poseidon and Movie Trailer of 2012

If I was in that cruise, what will I do? Stay with the crowd in the ball or have the courage and faith to seek the escape from the disaster?

I read the following verses in 3 Nephi Chapter 7 in Book of Mormon this morning...

5 And it came to pass in the *thirty and fourth year, in the first month, on the fourth day of the month, there arose a great storm, such an one as never had been known in all the land.

6 And there was also a great and terrible tempest; and there was terrible thunder, insomuch that it did shake the whole earth as if it was about to divide asunder.

7 And there were exceedingly sharp lightnings, such as never had been known in all the land.

8 And the city of Zarahemla did take fire.

9 And the city of Moroni did bink into the depths of the sea, and the inhabitants thereof were drowned.

10 And the earth was carried up upon the city of Moronihah, that in the place of the city there became a great mountain.

11 And there was a great and terrible destruction in the land southward.

12 But behold, there was a more great and terrible destruction in the land northward; for behold, the whole face of the land was changed, because of the tempest and the whirlwinds, and the thunderings and the lightnings, and the exceedingly great quaking of the whole earth;

13 And the highways were broken up, and the level roads were spoiled, and many smooth places became rough.

14 And many great and notable cities were sunk, and many were burned, and many were shaken till the buildings thereof had fallen to the earth, and the inhabitants thereof were slain, and the places were left desolate.

15 And there were some cities which remained; but the damage thereof was exceedingly great, and there were many in them who were slain.

16 And there were some who were carried away in the whirlwind; and whither they went no man knoweth, save they know that they were carried away.

17 And thus the face of the whole earth became deformed, because of the tempests, and the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the quaking of the earth.

18 And behold, the rocks were rent in twain; they were broken up upon the face of the whole earth, insomuch that they were found in broken fragments, and in seams and in cracks, upon all the face of the land.

19 And it came to pass that when the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the storm, and the tempest, and the quakings of the earth did cease—for behold, they did last for about the space of three hours; and it was said by some that the time was greater; nevertheless, all these great and terrible things were done in about the space of three hours—and then behold, there was darkness upon the face of the land.

Isn't it the scene recorded by Mormon is almost the same as the scene shown in 2012 Movie? I am kind of scare and fear if the day (The Coming of Chirst) is taking place now... Am I not prepared? Many might ask?

Frank, I'm not ready for "The Day" now at this moment.

I still have more sins to repent (including watching the movie Poseidon yesterday, in stead of pushing my companion to do home teaching).

I still not yet find the sister that Heavenly Father enrusted to me to enter to the Holy Temple of God to be sealed for time and eternity.

My family are not baptised yet... And many more goals to be achieved...

The writing in 3 Nephi Chapter 7 continue...

24 And in one place they were heard to cry, saying: O that we had repented before this great and terrible day, and then would our brethren have been spared, and they would not have been burned in that great city Zarahemla.

25 And in another place they were heard to cry and mourn, saying: O that we had repented before this great and terrible day, and had not killed and stoned the prophets, and cast them out; then would our mothers and our fair daughters, and our children have been spared, and not have been buried up in that great city Moronihah. And thus were the howlings of the people great and terrible.

It is my prayer and plead to Heavenly Father that we all can truely repent and forsake all the ungodly things and be perfected in Chirst as Moroni taught us:

Moroni 10

32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

Weakness

"We should not be discouraged or depressed by our shortcomings. No one is without weakness. As part of the divine plan, we are tested to see whether we master weakness or let weakness master us. Proper diagnosis is essential to proper treatment. The Lord gave us this remarkable assurance: “Because thou hast seen thy weakness thou shalt be made strong” (Ether 12:37). But wishing for strength won’t make us strong. It takes faith and work to shore up a weakened cord of integrity."

Elder Russell M. Nelson
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
As most of you (those who is my friend on Facebook) get to know that I was asked to leave my service at MOE because the standard of my spoken English. I was assigned as a Math and English teacher for Primary 2 students. As I still used to my daily "Singlish". Whenever the 3 little "Devils" (ADHD students) starts to play a fool in the classroom, I have to scold them using some "unstructured" Singlish.
I know it is not easy to correct some of our natural habits. By the help from the power of faith towards our saviors, we can do whatsoever task that required of us.
"And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. " Ether 12:27
I love the Book of Mormon, which provides my daily guides and strength to endure to the end.

What is HOPE 希望?

"When we have hope, we trust in the promises our Father in Heaven made to us. We have a quiet assurance that if we do what is right, we will have peace in this world and eternal life in the world to come.

The unfailing source of our hope is that we are sons and daughters of Heavenly Father, who loves us so deeply that He allowed His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to suffer to save us from sin and death. By having hope in Jesus Christ, we allow Him to help us overcome the difficulties and challenges we face each day."

There are always ups and downs in our life. Many of us will easily give up hope. Why more and more give up their life, hurt themselves or even turn their anger to those they love...

"WHY ME??" that is what we always ask God whenever we faced some obstacles in life. I used to do the same...

I was diagnosed that I had a brain tumour in my brain when I was 12. I went through 2 surgeries in 3 days and radiotherapy for the next 30 days after operation. I lost all my hair and some of them never grow back again! I felt depressed. I know that my parents my parents felt much more pain than I do at that time.

But, I learnt from them that they didn't give up on hope. They provided the best love, care, and supports for me to help me to live a normal life after that. I love them so much that I wish someday I can stay together with them forever. I came to realise that is possible after I found the greater source of hope - my Saviour, Jesus Christ.

That is my short story about myself but there are many more touching stories that can be found at the website above. If you really fell down and have no strength to keep going. Please visit the page and I know you can find relief.

The Plan of Salvation

continue from last post...

Wanting to know more about where is my grandma now and what is my purpose of life, I accepted their invitation to have discussions with them. They taught me about who is God, why is he loves us. They told me God is our Heavenly Father that we are his spiritual sons and daughters.

He cares for us and offers us the Plan of Salvation and lets us to choose either to follow or to reject this plan. I found that the plan is perfect! It's even better then the theory of recanation. I start to have a stronger desire to findout more about God and his words. I started to read The Book of Mormon.

"Blessed are ye if ye shall give heed unto the words of these twelve whom I have chosen from among you to minister unto you, and to be your servants; and unto them I have given power that they may baptize you with water; and after that ye are baptized with water, behold, I will baptize you with fire and with the Holy Ghost; therefore blessed are ye if ye shall believe in me and be baptized, after that ye have seen me and know that I am.

And again, more blessed are they who shall believe in your words because that ye shall testify that ye have seen me, and that ye know that I am. Yea, blessed are they who shall believe in your words, and come down into the depths of humility and be baptized, for they shall be visited with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and shall receive a remission of their sins. "

I'm glad to know that he is always there to listen and willing to help me all the time. I testify that he will bless us if we follow axactly what he wants us to do in this life because he loves us.

My Life Wasn't Complete

Well... Many of my friends doubted that why I joined the LDS (Mormon) church and served my mission. I just wish to note down some of my feelings and thoughts when I met the missionaries in March 2004.

Before I start to tell you about my story, feel free to listen to this brother

I felt about the same as him. I was quite happy but I just cannot figure out what is lacking in my life. I have lovely parents, good siblings, financial supports for my study, and quite good results.
When I met the missionaries, I knew what was I lacking at that time. The joy and confident that shown by them. I need that and I want to find-out where they gain that light that shines from their countenances.
So I started to set appointments with them to learn and find out more about their messages. I was suprised by their theory that family can be together forever. It strucked me, as my grandma just passed away not to long ago at that time.....

What do you want?

In two weeks time, i'll be home for 1 year after my mission. What had I done in this year? What did I learn?

Things that I achieved...

1) I found a job that I love and enjoyed so much... (be a teacher)

2) My relationship with my parents is getting closer and they really know the reason I serve my mission (I love them)

3) able to draw a little closer to God (through many trials and errors)

4) Visit to temple again after my MTC in Oct 2006 (will visit Taipei temple with Bishop Neo's family end of Nov '09)

Things that not yet done (my goals for this coming year)

1) Get certified as a teacher

2) Get my parents + siblings to attend church and learn about the gospel

3) Be more obedient to the Lord's commandments (obedience to exactness)

4) Seriously date a worthy sister that I can bring to temple

Again, thanks for the Eternal Marriage student Manual. I read this talk by Elder Bruce R. McConkie

"Well, do you want a wife? Do you want anything that’s right and proper? You go to work, and you use the agency and power and ability that God has given you. You use every faculty, you get all the judgment that you can centered on the problem, you make up your own mind, and then, to be sure that you don’t err, you counsel with the Lord. "

He also quoted the counsel of Alma to his son Helaman

"O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God. Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support.” (Alma 37:35–36.)"

Once again, Heavenly Father do answers our prayers. I know what I need to do now. May all of us can “Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings" everyday. This I challenge all of you.
