Solving Emotional Problems in the Lord’s Own Way

I just read this article from church magazine Liahona and I feel that I have to record this quote here. This is taken from President Boyd K. Packer

"We live in day when adversary stresses on every hand the philosophy of instant gratification. We seem to demand instant everything, including instant solution to our problems.

We are indoctrinated that somehow we should always by instantly emotionally comfortable. When that is not so, some become anxious - and all too frequently seek relief from counseling, from analysis, and even from medication.

It was meant to be that life would be a challenge. To suffer some anxiety, some depression, some disappointment, even some failure is normal.

Teach our member to be that life if they have a good, miserable day once in a while, or several in a row, to stand steady and face them. Things will strainghten out.

There is great purpose in our struggle in life."

I know what the prophet said is true. May who read this feel the same I feel.

New School Year and New Duties

I sm quite budy recently these first two days of school year. There are a lots of errands to be done at school as a Pesonal Developement Mentor (Form Teacher) to our special needs students. and as Numeracy Teacher to prepare, teach and collect many forms from our students.

Addition to it. I Just recently called to serve as early morming Seminary for youth in East Zone in Singapore Stake. Have to wake up early in the morning. Teach Seminary from 5.45 - 6.30 am then rush to reach school by 7.30 am and and finish work at Delta Senior School around 5.30 pm. These few months, the missionaries invited me to help to fellowship some new investigtors to help them teach those lesson and end up I need to spend my last few hours before sleep around 9.30 am with our devote missionaries.

Am I murmuring as Laman and Lamuel when Lehi told them to get the brass plate from Laban? I know not but I received the following YSA Gems

"Salvation and eternal life would not be possible if it were not for the Atonement, brought about by our Savior, to whom we owe everything. But in order for these supreme blessings to be effective in our lives, we should first do our part, 'for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.' Let us with faith, enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility, and love do all that is within our reach, and we will be doing all that is possible to acheive the impossible -- that is , to achieve what for the human mind is impossible but within the divine intervention of our loving Father and the infinite sacrifice brought about by our Savior becomes the greatest gift, the most glorious of realities, to live forever with God and with our families."

I know I'm nothing compared to What Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ has done for all human kind. I love all of you as I love them ...

An Unforgetable New Year

While many of most of the people celebrating the New Year 2010 and having count down party yesterday night. Some of our members gather at Memorial Service of Bro. Steven Lee (Sis. Yan Qiong's husband).

I am glad that I received the advice from Bishop to put away the appointment that missionaries ealier set with me yesterday afternoon to teach with them. I learnt so much in the service yesterday. Bro. Lee suffered Hepetitis C before he passed away. He planned to have liver transplant but couldn't take the operation because of a cancerous cell near his lung. I met him while I served in 2nd Ward as missionary but I'm sad that I didn't get to serve him much.

My mum also diagnose with Hepititis B more then 10 years ago. We didn't worry too much about it before. I think it is time for me to really recognise how much blessing my family received from Heavenly Father to grant us health and safety throughout these few years. Both my parents passed 50's and my dad going to be 60 next year.

When I was about to leave my HDB block to bike to Kallang MRT to take a train to Bedok to attend the service of Bro. Lee yesterday, I received a call I miss him so much as I visited him last Sunday and get the chance to read to him some part of Book of Mormon.

I pray that our father in heaven will send the Holy Ghost to comfort the family members and friends of these two faithful brethren. May we live our life closer to the Lord's way, and work harder to serve and love each other, and to share this wonderful plan of happiness with our family members and friends that still yet to received it. These are my thoughts early morning in the new year. I love you all.
